Driver admits to texting while driving after his truck lands in a ditch

A 19-year-old male was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control and texting while driving after his truck landed on its side in a 12-foot-deep ditch, according to the sheriff’s office.

Jack Bohman of Versailles was travelling north on Reed Road in a 2007 Chevy 2500 truck Sunday around noon when he drove off the left side of the road and struck a concrete culvert.

The truck continued off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and landed in the ditch on its side.

Bohman, the only occupant, was outside the vehicle when crews arrived. He admitted to texting while driving and was taken to Wayne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according a press release.
