Montgomery County was recognized for four programs: Family Treatment Court and Preschool Promise in the category of Children and Youth, Business Solutions in the category of Community and Economic Development and Reentry Career Alliance Academy in the category of Criminal Justice and Public Safety.
"Counties implement innovative programs that enhance residents' quality of life every day. This year's Achievement Award-winning programs demonstrate how counties build healthy, safe and vibrant communities across America," NACo President Greg Cox said in a release.
"Montgomery County is honored to receive these awards and we are immensely proud of our staff," Montgomery County Commission President Debbie Lieberman said in the release. "This recognition speaks volumes about the incredible work we do to invest in people and our local economy so that all of our citizens can lead safe, healthy and productive lives."
Nationally, awards are given in 18 different categories and 614 programs were recognized in 2019.
