The plane that crashed into a BMW last Thursday while trying to make an emergency landing, barely missed hitting a school bus with a dozen middle school children on board.

News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy met with the driver of that school bus today.

“The BMW was beside me, I saw the plane coming in and it was just coming under the traffic lights which was amazing to me that it did that,” said David Moore, a bus driver for Centerville schools.

“So it came under the traffic lights, it landed directly in front of my bus.”

“I don’t think the BMW saw it, he started pulling out then he stopped at the last minute,” Moore said.

After the crash Moore said two people got out of the plane and another got out of the BMW, they all appeared to be okay.

“I called my dispatch and told them a plane just hit a car, which they had to ask me about a few times,” he said.

Moore waited for a few minutes, but then continued on the route so he could get the kids away from the situation.

“At the end of the route one of the girls came up and said thanks Mr. Moore for saving our lives,” he said.

“I wish I could have notified the BMW driver but it was within a matter of seconds.”

WHIO has requested video footage from on board the bus to see if it shows the crash.

“Hopefully we got it on video,” Moore told Cudahy.
