Safety guidelines introduced with Spin Scooters as new mode of transportation

The Dayton RTA is doing a lot to emphasize safety as they partner with Spin Scooters.

The new mode of transportation comes with a few rules to keep riders safe.

In order to use a Spin Scooter, you must be at least 18 years old. Riders are not permitted to ride on the sidewalk, instead you must use a bike path.

“I think that should be of the norm because you have people on there and you may lose a little control,” a local woman said to News Center 7.

“You need to do a little practice before you jump out there, you know you’ve got traffic and everything,” she said. “There’s no helmets or elbow pads.”
