The caller claims the resident must pay several hundred dollars for missing jury duty or the sheriff’s office will have a warrant out for their arrest.
The sheriff’s office said the call is a scam and they never call residents and threaten arrest for unpaid fines, warrants or missed court dates.

If you receive a call similar to this, the sheriff’s office asks that you report it to your local law enforcement agency.
