Vandalia plans more leaf pickup rounds this season

Many cities are beginning to make leaf pickup rounds as fall settles in and this season Vandalia will be doing a few extra rounds than most.

“We’re actually going to make four rounds,” Rob Krohn of Vandalia public service said.

Most cities make about two rounds a season.

As long as residents gather their leaves by the curb and away from storm drains, city workers will sweep them up free of charge.

“Keep the neighborhood looking good,” said George Hardin long-time Vandalia resident.
