But the ribbon cutting won’t feature an outsized pair of scissors. Instead, one of the store’s employees will celebrate the opening by shooting an arrow from a bow to cut the ribbon, according to Cabela’s.
Opening day will kick off a weekend-long celebration highlighted by special appearances, family events, giveaways, sales and more. A complete schedule of events will be available on www.cabelas.com/westchester when finalized, according to the company.
Future customers can find the store at 7250 Cabela Drive, which is on the corner of Liberty Way and Tylers Place Boulevard, just west of Interstate 75’s Liberty Way interchange.
Approximately 200 full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs are to be created at the store.
The project's developer "couldn't be more excited about the activity at the marketplace and excitement over what's going to happen on Liberty Way between the Steiner project and our project," said Thomas Humes, president and chief executive officer of Great Traditions Land & Development Co., earlier this month.
Across the street south of Liberty Way, construction is also continuing on the approximately $350 million Liberty Center retail, dining, residential and office complex in Liberty Twp. Liberty Center is planned for an October opening.
Cabela’s designs stores to offer customers an immersive outdoor experience with log construction, stonework, a mountain replica, wildlife displays and museum-quality taxidermy mounts, vintage outdoor photos and memorabilia, hand-painted murals, an aquarium and an indoor archery range.
Additionally, the Butler County store will include a cafe, fudge shop, boat shop, Gun Library, Bargain Cave and Cabela’s Wildlife and Land Management product offering.
The West Chester location will be Nebraska-based Cabela’s second store in Ohio, joining a Columbus-area store that opened in 2013. Cabela’s is also planning new storefronts in Centerville, to open spring 2016, and Avon in spring 2017.
