Chick-fil-A offers free food today for ‘Cow Appreciation Day’

Today, July 11, brings a perfect storm of free-food promotions at Dayton-area Chick-fil-A restaurants.

First, all Chick-fil-A restaurants are offering a free entree for Cow Appreciation Day for customers who either dress as a cow or sport some sort of cow-spotted accessory. That promotion is nationwide, with all 2,100 Chick-fil-A stores participating today, Tuesday July 11.

And on top of that, Dayton-area Chick-fil-A restaurants have a free mystery breakfast promotion going on Tuesday mornings this summer, and that offer also will be available today from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

During that morning period, customers dressed like a cow can  choose which free-food promotion they want.

“On July 11, guests can’t lose if they are hungry,” said Marla Davis, the franchise owner-operator for Chick-fil-A’s Washington Twp. and Cornerstone of Centerville restaurants. “Without a costume from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., or all day if dressed as a cow.”

Here are a few more details of Cow Appreciation Day, excerpted from a Chick-fil-A release:

“Adult customers who dress in any type of cow attire, whether it’s “head-to-hoof” or sporting a cow-spotted accessory, will be rewarded with a free Chick-fil-A entrée, such as an Original Chicken Sandwich, new Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich or breakfast favorite, the Egg White Grill. Children will receive a free Kid’s Meal for dressing in a cow costume. Salads will not be redeemable.”

“The Cow Appreciation Day celebration will last from store opening through 7 p.m. local time (check local store listings for individual store opening hours).”

Cow Appreciation Day is Chick-fil-A’s largest, single-day customer appreciation event and celebrates the fast-food chain’s “Eat Mor Chikin” Cows that are part of its national advertising. Chick-fil-A began celebrating Cow Appreciation Day in 2005. Last year, nearly 1.6 million free entrees were given to cow-dressed customers.
