City Of Dayton Gets Code Red System

The next time the phone rings in Dayton, it could be a Code Red. It is a new emergency notification system meant to help keep people safe.

The city of Dayton will be able to deliver a pre-recorded phone message to one neighborhood or the entire city at a rate of 60,000 calls per hour.

The Dayton Fire Department got a $34,000 grant for the two-year program. Code Red is activated during natural and man-made disasters.

If your phone number is listed in the white pages, that number is already registered for Code Red.

If you have an unlisted number or a business in the city of Dayton, you must register for the Code Red database. You can do that by calling the Dayton Fire Department at 333-4505.
