Cooler but mainly dry this weekend

UPDATE:

Clouds will linger through most of the evening with a few, light, passing showers possible, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.

“Winds subside and clouds decrease through the night,” said Vrydaghs.

Tonight will be cold and calmer with lows around 30 degrees, though some locations may dip into the upper 20s, she said.

Sunday: A mix of sun and clouds is expected. Winds will shift out of the south and temperatures will rise into the upper 40s.

Monday: This will be the nicest day of the workweek, but it will be breezy at times. After a cold start in the 30s, highs reach the upper 50s with sun and clouds.

Tuesday: More clouds arrive ahead of a cold front. Temperatures rise into the mid to upper 50s. It will be windy at times with gusts near 20 mph. The cold front will bring some showers for the second half of the day, especially afternoon and evening.

Wednesday, Thursday: A blast of cold air arrives by the middle of the week. It will stay in the 30s through Wednesday, but temperatures start in the low 20s Thursday with highs in the mid-30s. Both days will stay dry.

“Yes, we stay below normal,” Vrydaghs said, “but records are not at risk of being broken.”

FIRST REPORT

A few spotty showers are possible this afternoon as a weak front moves through the area, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.

Breezy conditions are expected with highs around 50 before temps drop tonight into Sunday morning to around 30, with some upper 20s possible.

Sunday will be “a very nice end to the weekend despite a chilly start,” Zontini said.

Sunday will be sunnier than today, but still cooler than normal with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the middle 30s.

Monday should be dry and “a bit warmer,” Zontini said, with winds out of the south and a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the middle to upper 50s.

Wind gusts could reach 20 mph on Monday.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with the chance for scattered showers, especially in the afternoon and evening, and highs in the low 50s.

Wednesday looks to be colder with highs only reaching the upper 30s.
