UPDATE @ 4:41 p.m.

Interstate 75 reopened all lanes and the exit ramp from Ohio 63 to I-75 north at about 4:30 p.m. after a spill of a substance from a box truck caused closures earlier in the day.

The Monroe Fire Department and other units responded to the scene of a spill shortly after 1 p.m. today.

A box truck stopped on northbound I-75 near mile marker 30 and the Greentree Road overpass leaked the substance, according to Monroe police.

The ramp from Ohio 63 to I-75 northbound was closed because of the incident. The right two lanes of I-75 north in the area were also closed.

Testing at the scene showed the substance was not sulfuric acid, but it is a “caustic substance,” according to emergency radio traffic.

The Butler County Emergency Management Agency and the Ohio EPA responded.
