3 charged with murder in 2018 double shooting in Auglaize County

Three people are facing murder charges in an April 2018 shooting that killed a father and left his son severely injured.

Syniqua Martina Bell, 31, Jacar Anthony Bitting, 27, and Keith Tyrone Waddell, 31, were recently arrested and charged, according to Auglaize County Sheriff Allen Solomon.

On April 11, 2018, a father and son were shot in a condominium on the south side of Grand Lake St. Marys  in the 10900 block of state Route 364. One of the men was able to call 911 and report that he was shot. Both were taken to the hospital.

Dexter Lee Turner, 47, died from injuries while at the hospital.

His son, Alim Amir Turner, was released from the hospital later that month.

Bell is facing aggravated murder, murder, attempted aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and obstructing justice charges.

Bond was set at $500,000.
Bitting and Waddell were charged with aggravated murder, murder, attempted aggravated murder, attempted murder and felonious assault, all with gun specifications. They are also facing a weapon under disability charge.

Bitting is being held without Bond and Waddell is awaiting his initial court appearance, according to the sheriff’s office.

St. Marys Fire and Police departments, Celina Fire Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Columbus Police Department, Whiehall Police Department and Lime Police Department assisted with the investigation.

“This has been a long, intense investigation, involving more than one agency, including a few from outside the area,” said Solomon. “We appreciated their assistance.”
