Dayton police call for backup during Wexford Place traffic stop

Dayton police officers requested backup — also known as a signal 99 — for crews on the 3100 block of Wexford Place.

The call for help came around 1:30 p.m. Friday.

It is not clear what prompted the call for extra assistance, but it was connected to a traffic stop, according to 9-1-1 dispatchers.

Four Dayton police cruisers were on the scene when our crew arrived. A woman initially was handcuffed, but she was later released.

Officers were having a car towed.
