Dayton teen sentenced to at least 10 years in shooting, robbery

A Dayton teen was sentenced to at least 10 years in prison in connection to a shooting of a homeowner and robbery of a pizza delivery driver.

Antonio Denson, 16, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of having weapons while under disability earlier this month, according to Montgomery County court records.

One of the aggravated robbery charges had a three-year firearm specification.

On Nov. 19, he was sentenced to 10 to 13.5 years.

One count of aggravated robbery, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle and a receiving stolen property charge were dismissed.

On April 2, a man in the Belmont area was shot when he opened the front door of his home to investigate a noise outside, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

After he shut the door,  the suspects ran away.

A Cousin Vinny’s Pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in the same area that night.  The driver’s cell phone, vehicle and a pizza were stolen during the incident.

Police determined that the phone was inside a house on Emmons Street on April 3. The suspect tried to escape through a back door, but was stopped and arrested, according to the prosecutor’s office.

The stolen phone and multiple guns were found inside the home.
