Florida man caught on video shooting cat with crossbow

A South Florida hotel employee is behind bars after being caught on surveillance footage shooting a cat with a crossbow.

Surveillance footage shows Georgios Lollias, an employee at the Franklin Hotel in South Beach, point a crossbow toward bushes, according to WPLG.

After the bow was shot, a cat could be seen running from the bushes as Lollias attempts to follow the animal.

The cat was eventually found outside the hotel last month with an arrow in its head and neck, with injuries forcing it to be euthanized.

The surveillance footage was not initially available to Miami Beach police, who told WPLG that it appeared that the footage was deliberately deleted. After the U.S. Secret Service uncovered the footage, Lollias confessed, WPLG reported.

He was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
