Wayne Barnett, 60, Fairview Avenue, was interviewed Monday and cooperated with the investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. Barnett said he sent the material to an underage child. Barnett was booked into the Butler County Jail and charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, a second-degree felony.

Barnett was arraigned this morning in Hamilton Municipal Court where bond was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing has been set for Nov. 13.

Detectives are continuing to investigate this case.

“This is what we do as law enforcement. We protect those that cannot protect themselves. Innocent children need a voice and we are here to make sure they are heard and protected,” said Sheriff Richard Jones.
