SWAT standoff in Harrison Twp. ends after almost 4 hours

A standoff in the 500 block of Elm Grove Drive involving sheriff’s deputies and a SWAT crew appears to have ended after nearly four hours, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

Dispatchers said that a suspect had been taken into custody, but more details could not be released yet.

The SWAT crew was called late Tuesday night after a man who reportedly fired a gun in a basement would not come out of a house.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies also gathered outside the house and were trying to make contact with him so he would come out, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

There were two children inside the home when the gun was fired shortly before 10 p.m., but no one was hurt.
