Sammy's Food Mart on Smithville Road robbed by masked males

Police are investigating after masked suspect robbed Sammy’s Food Mart Thursday morning on South Smithville Road in Dayton.

In a 9-1-1 call, the caller described three men with masks covering their faces coming into the store on foot, pointing a small gun at him, telling him to open the register, taking the money and leaving on foot.

Our crew on the scene reported that the store was closed with two police cruisers outside at around 6:30 a.m., about an hour after the robbery was first reported.
