Victim says Fairborn rape suspect nearly killed her

A Fairborn woman said a man sexually assaulted her and held her against her will and now the man is facing serious charges.

Michael Harris, 31, is charged with kidnapping, rape and other felony charges and remains in the Greene County Jail. He was arrested earlier this month.

“I can’t sleep at night.  My mind just races and I don’t feel safe,” the victim said. “I just hope justice is served...he doesn’t need to be out here.”

The victim said Harris came to her house and they left in Harris’ truck.

The victim said the alleged sexual assault may have happened in the truck.  The victim was able to escape out of the vehicle on Ohio Street, because Harris was said to have left the doors of the truck unlocked, a police report said.

The woman called her roommate, who then called 911.

Police were able to arrest Harris shortly after he ditched his vehicle and ran.

The victim told News Center 7’s Gabrielle Enright that Harris nearly killed her.

Harris remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.
