Woman pleads guilty, sentenced in chase that damaged Oakwood cruiser

A 19-year-old Oakwood woman accused of leading police in a high-speed chase in a stolen car was sentenced to probation.

Jacki Newton was ordered to serve five years probation and complete the MonDay program, said a Montgomery County Common Pleas Court official.

Newton pleaded guilty to felonious assault of a police officer with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property and vandalism earlier this month, according to court records.

Two counts of failure to comply, one count of failure to stop after an accident and one count of criminal damaging were dismissed.

On June, a police chase ended with a crash in the DRT Manufacturing Co. parking lot in Kettering.

Newton was arrested after a short foot chase.

An Oakwood police cruisers sustained heavy damage during the incident.
