Fire Consumes Part Of Miami County Salvage Yard

Doctors treated one person Tuesday for minor burns following a business fire in Miami County. The blaze happened around 9:30 a.m. at a salvage yard on Route 571 between Tipp City and West Milton.

Fire crews said the fire damaged the garage and office area of Mann's Auto Parts. They also said there were several explosions inside the structure.

Mutual aid was called in from neighboring departments to help contain the fire.

Fire investigators suspect a short in an electric pump used to siphon gasoline started the fire. Damage estimates were reported at around $175,000.
