“We came. We danced. We rocked.”
Several members of a South Florida police department were asked to the senior prom by special needs students at John I. Leonard High School on Thursday, and members of the Boynton Beach Police Department were more than up to the task, WPEC reported.
The prom for the Greenacres high school was held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts Center in nearby West Palm Beach on Saturday, and several officers served as dates for the students, WTVJ reported.
The Police Department posted several photos and videos on its Twitter page, including shots from a local Wawa to buy snacks, The police also posted photos of officers preparing boutonnieres and corsages for their dates.
“As much as tonight means to these students, it means the world to us to be able to escort them to their prom,” the Boynton Beach police tweeted.
