Travis Lakins, a 2013 Franklin High School graduate and former Ohio State Buckeyes pitcher, made the Opening Day roster for the Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles announced their 30-man roster Thursday. They open the 60-game season at 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Lakins, 26, will see his former team, the Red Sox, right away in 2020. The Red Sox drafted him in the sixth round in 2013, and he made his big-league debut on April 23, 2019, in Boston. Lakins made 16 appearances last season as a rookie, posting a 3.86 ERA.

The Red Sox traded Lakins to the Cubs in January, and then the Orioles selected Lakins off waivers.
