Kettering Health bought a commercial spot for Sunday’s big game and asked employees for ideas of how to best represent the network to the community, said Lori Turner, vice president of network marketing.
Without giving away too many details, employee Tom Milburn’s winning concept is called “Teddy Bear Touchdown.” It demonstrates the Kettering Health team working together to deliver care similar to the way a football team works together, Turner said.
Milburn, of Wilmington, only worked at the hospital group as a business data analyst for one month when his idea was picked out of about 100 commercial ideas submitted to marketing. He’s now been an employee about two months, but said his short tenure makes the honor more special.
The idea he and his wife submitted captures how Kettering Health is “always ready” and shows the hospitals also take care of patients’ families, he said.
He and his wife cameo in the commercial, to appear on WHIO TV Channel 7 in front of one of television’s largest viewing audiences. It airs in a segment just before kickoff.
WHIO is owned by Cox Media Group Ohio, which operates this newspaper.
The commercial was filmed at Kettering Health’s newest hospital, Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek.
