Jane Pauley to succeed Charles Osgood as ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ host

Charles Osgood, beloved anchor of “CBS Sunday Morning” for 22 years, hosted his last show today Sept. 25, and CBS has announced that Jane Pauley will take over as anchor of the nation’s No. 1 Sunday morning news program.

Osgood, 83, is retiring after working nearly 50 years at CBS News. He took over the Sunday morning show in 1994, following in the footsteps of Charles Kuralt.

Pauley will become the third anchor in the history of “CBS Sunday Morning” after joining the show as a contributor in 2014. Her first broadcast as the new anchor will be Oct. 9.
