Firefighters rescued a teenager from a house fire Saturday morning in Sidney.

Fire investigators in Sidney ruled as accidental an injury fire at the corner of Fifth Ave. and Grove St. the morning of June 2, 2012.

Fire Chief Brad Jones said, "The fire started in the kitchen in the area of the stove and refrigerator."

Jones said that 16-year-old T.J. Eichelberger, who suffered second-degree burns and smoke inhalation, "is currently recovering from those injuries."

Damages to the home and contents were estimated at $35,000.

Fire officials noted that they found no working smoke alarms in the home. They believe that would have made a difference, said Deputy Chief Ron Wolfe.
