A two-word, hand-written “Store Closed” sign greeted customers at the Taco Bell at 5837 Far Hills Ave. just north of Whipp Road on Sunday. The location is surrounded by several long-standing retail businesses, and it’s a half-block from a new Dunkin’ Donuts shop that opened to the public just yesterday, Sunday Dec. 30.

The lease for the Far Hills restaurant was expiring, and the restaurant’s franchise owner “wants to relocate to a new spot he will own,” Bob Zavakos, senior vice president of NAI Bergman Commercial Real Estate Services, told this news outlet Sunday.
“We are looking at some alternatives in the area,” Zavakos said.

Taco Bell has been active in the Dayton market in recent years, including a complete raze-rebuild of its restaurant at 1000 Brown St. near the University of Dayton in 2015, and a renovation of a former KeyBank branch that paved the way for a move to larger quarters for its restaurant on Kettering Boulevard near West Dorothy Lane in 2014.
