Sgt. Paul Lezotte of the patrol’s Lebanon Post said the accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. when the driver, traveling east on Brewer Road near Mason Montgomery Road, failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The driver then over-corrected and struck a mailbox before coming to rest in a ditch in a treeline, he said
Both men are believed to be between 40 and 50 years old and neither was believed to be wearing a seat belt, Lezotte said.
The accident remains under investigation, but Lezotte said alcohol may be a factor.
