Background: Frandsen, born in Athens, Ohio, has 17 years of higher education experience.
He currently serves as vice president of finance and administration at Oberlin College.
The majority of his work was at Albion College in Michigan from 2004 to 2014. Much like Wittenberg, Albion is a private liberal arts college.
At Albion, he took on the role of professor, director of the Gerstacker Institute for Professional Management, vice president of finance and administration, and interim president.
Prior to his higher education career, he spent 10 years working in the corporate finance sector.
Frandsen is married and has two daughters, one a doctoral student at Ohio State University.
Education: Frandsen received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas in strategic management, and his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Penn State University in finance and business administration.

Previous stint as president: Frandsen served as interim president at Albion College from 2013 to 2014.
According to information released by Wittenberg, Frandsen was credited with initiating the Just One More program.
The program encouraged faculty, staff, trustees, alumni and local residents to become more involved with student life.
Through this effort and his other endeavors, he secured the largest gifts in the last 10 years and implemented programming that helped increase first and second year student enrollment and retention.
