Proposed Troy marijuana moratorium on hold

A proposed marijuana moratorium in the city is on hold so city officials can hold additional discussions about the legislation.

The city planning commission is exploring what to do about allowing retails dispensaries, cultivators and processors of the medical marijuana in the city. The commission will offer a recommendation to Troy City Council.

On Wednesday, two of the seven commission members met and tabled the proposal, deciding they wanted to delay any action until all members were present.

Troy has imposed a 180-day moratorium on any medical marijuana businesses allowed by state law beginning in September.
