The move will improve Hospice Care of Middletown’s visibility and working environment, said Mary McGee, clinical director. McGee said the building on Grove Street either was too hot or too cold — 60 degrees or 91 degrees — and there wasn’t much traffic on the road.
“It was not a very good location for what we do,” McGee said.
On Monday, the organization will move its corporate offices to 3909 Central Ave., located in the Middletown Area Senior Center’s annex building, behind the main center building.
“We are excited,” McGee said. “We believe it’s a great move.”
The phone numbers at hospice will remain the same: (513) 424-CARE (2273) or fax (513) 424-5450.
Six administrators from Abilities First recently moved from 101 Grove St. to the headquarters at 4710 Timber Trail Drive, said Karen Smith, chief executive officer.
By bringing the staff together, Smith said, Abilities First will “focus on its mission.”
The adult day program will continue to operate on Grove Street, and the vacant building will be converted into a warehouse for Abilities First, possibly by the end of the year, she said.
