The report from LiveScience says the home of the hula dropped all the way to number eight on the list.
It all comes from the Gallup Organization’s "Well-Being Index" for 2013.
The index considers basics like food and water access, as well as work environments, health and access to quality medical care.
North Dakota made it as high as No. 2 in 2012, but this is the first time the state has been at the top.
