Anna bus, pickup truck collide in Shelby County

Deputies in Shelby County said a school bus from Anna Local Schools and a pickup truck collided shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday at a rural intersection in the western part of the county.

The crash happened at the intersection of Hardin-Wapak Road and Fort Loramie-Swanders Road about six miles east of Fort Loramie.

According to preliminary reports, it appears the driver of the school bus pulled from a stop sign and into the path of the truck.

The driver of the truck was taken by CareFllight to Miami Valleu Hospital in Dayton with serious injuries. Deputies said he was pinned in the wreckage of the truck for about 30 minutes.

No one the bus was injured. At this point, deputies said they are not sure exactly how many were on the bus, but they believe it was about a dozen students and the bus driver.
