Two families were displaced after a fire broke out Friday afternoon at the Peppermint Village Apartments.
The fire was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. at an apartment in the 300 block of Taffy Court.
The blaze was contained to the original apartment, with heavy smoke and water damage to adjacent apartments, according to our partners at the Early Bird Newspaper.

The cause remains under investigation, but Union City, Ohio Fire and Police Chief Mark Ater said it was believed to have started in an upstairs bedroom.
The American Red Cross was called to assist families displaced by the fire.
