A 21-year-old Dayton man is facing felonious assault charges after a stabbing on East Third Street Sunday night.

Arick Carles is accused of stabbing a man during a fight.

Carles was crossing the street in the 2700 block of East Third when he slowed down walking in front of a driver traveling on the street, court records read.

The stabbing was reported around 7:15 p.m.

As the truck passed Carles, court records indicated that he hit the side of the truck.

“(The victim) stated he had gotten out of the truck to talk with Carles and they started fighting,” an affidavit read.  “(The victim) state that he was hit three times and realized he had been stabbed.”

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for three wounds from the fight.

Carles returned to the scene while police were still there.

“He was found to have a box cutter on his side that was used to cut (the victim),” court records read.

Carles pleaded not guilty to two counts of felonious assault and he is still in jail on $25,000 bond.
