The call came in around 6:50 a.m. by a passerby who noticed the 2003 Honda Civic on the Medlar Bikeway.
The car appeared to have been there for several hours, according to Sgt. Terry Boshears of Five River Metro Parks.
Police do not know who owns the car or what caused the fire.

It’s unclear why the car was on the bike path.
The investigation is pending, said Boshears.
The car has since been moved and the scene is clear, Boshears said.
