Cincinnati Christian receives face-lift

Church’s $250,000 donation also provides for new gymnasium floor.

FAIRFIELD — The elementary campus of Cincinnati Christian Schools will have a new look when the doors open this month.

Thanks to a $250,000 donation from Tri-County Assembly of God, a new brick and stone facade has been added to the front of the building, which faces Ohio 4. An archway over the front door will include a Verdin clock and new lettering for its sign.

“I think it’s going to help promote our school in a big way,” school spokesman Mark Phair said.

The donation also provided for a new floor in the gymnasium, giving it a modern basketball and volleyball surface.

Alum Brad Rosenberg, lead pastor at TCA, said his family has a long-time tradition at the school, which his father founded 40 years ago.

“We’re pretty firm believers that Christian education for our children is a priority,” he said, stressing the need to especially make elementary school age children a priority to encourage learning and growth.

“One of our core values is a strong commitment to outreach, and we just believe this is one way to reach out to the community, and we wanted to do it with radical generosity,” he said.

When the announcement of the gift was revealed, Rosenberg said some teachers and parents were teary-eyed.

“There’s quite a bit of passion and love for the school,” he said.

Designed to stand out to passers-by on Ohio 4, he said the stone arches, clock and sign are illuminated.

The goal is to inspire more people to come inside to see the “fantastic” things happening in the classrooms, he said.

“At the beginning of August, enrollment has experienced a very positive growth,” Phair said. “The incoming freshman class, as well as our preschool program, is at its capacity.”
