City of Trotwood offers grants to tornado victims

The deadline for tornado victims to apply for federal assistance from FEMA is Sept. 3, but people affected by the Memorial Day storms will still be able to get help locally.

The city of Trotwood has been raising money to help residents get $1,000 grants — not loans.

Former State Rep. Jeff Rezabek oversees the fund, which is made up of private and corporate donations.

Applications for the Trotwood relief fund are expected to be available after the FEMA deadline passes.
