Clear skies tonight will show you Venus

Tonight the clear skies will allow you to find a bright planet in the night sky!

Venus shines brightly after sunset. You will see it in the western sky after the sun goes down. It will be the brightest thing in the night sky and it doesn't set until just after midnight.

Venus is also reaching its greatest elongation or when it is its furthest distance from our sun in the sky. You will know Venus is a planet and not a star because it won't twinkle. It will shine steady. Venus will shine bright after sunset each night through April. If you see Venus, share a photo with us using the hashtag #SkyWitness7.
