Companies expected to announce expansions, increase in jobs

Two Cincinnati-area business announcements likely to involve expansion and jobs will be made today by Gov. John Kasich.

The governor will be in Loveland for an announcement at Bioformix, according to the governor’s office. Bioformix makes high performance adhesives, sealants, inks and coatings, according to the company. Kasich will be joined by JobsOhio President and Interim Chief Investment Officer Mark Kvamme, Bioformix President and Chief Executive Officer Adam Malofsky, and Bioformix Chief Scientist and Chief Technology Officer Bernard Malofsky, as well as other local officials.

Then Kasich and JobsOhio officials will be at Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s Cincinnati offices at 2 p.m. for an announcement regarding Kao USA Inc., a Japanese manufacturer of beauty care brands such as Jergens, Curel and Ban. Kvamme and Cincinnati USA chamber President and CEO Ellen Van der Horst will join the governor for that announcement, also according to the governor’s office.

Kasich and Cincinnati USA were part of local business expansion announcements last year at Intelligrated in Mason, a manufacturer of conveyor belts and conveyor belt systems; and ThyssenKrupp Bilstein of America in Hamilton, a manufacturer of shock absorbers for automobiles, for example.

Intelligrated said in November it plans to create 200 jobs within three years. Last May, it was announced Bilstein would create 60 jobs as part of an expansion project, for which hiring has already started.
