Construction workers started early and won’t finish until late today because of Mother Nature.
Jeremy Walling, owner of Miami Valley Construction Services, said with this weather he was getting an early start ripping the roof off of the Westbrooke Village Apartments.
“We’ll go extra today to get as much done before the rain next week,” he said.
And he’s not alone.
Just one street over on Olive Tree Drive, William Jackson was working on the roof of his grandmother’s home.
He came in from Chicago to help.
“Doing a lot of work,” Jackson said. “There’s a lot of work.”
He’s putting in more than an eight-hour day.
“I started at 6:30 this morning and I’ll end, we got until 7 or 8 o’clock,” Jackson said.
It’s all because of the sunshine and blue skies, which crews know will be hard to find in the next few days.
So why not take advantage of the nice weather while it’s still here?
Walling said that if you work outside, it doesn’t get an better than this.
“75, sunny, no wind,” he said.
