ARC will also ask the finders to attempt to find the owner and/or provide a foster home for the dog.
“We need to limit the intake of animals to protect both our officers and the general public,” said Animal Resource Center Director Robert Gruhl. “We must do our part to stop the spread of this disease.”
For anyone who needs to rehome or find a new home for a pet, the shelter has resources available here.
The shelter also will only allow five visitors in the building at any time.
Anyone who lost a dog and thinks it is at ARC should call 937-898-4457 to make arrangements to safely see the dog.

As of Wednesday morning, 57 dogs were on the shelter's lost and found page.
The agency, which is responsible for animal care and control for the county, is only dispatching officers to help with police cases and when there is imminent danger to the public, based off the recommendation of the National Animal Care and Control Association.
