Dayton Children’s Hospital is offering Kids Express virtual visits with health care providers for minor conditions during the coronavirus pandemic.

Parents should check with their child’s pediatrician before coming to Kids Express to make sure a virtual visit isn’t available.

“We are living in unprecedented times. As a mom myself, I know how important it is to parents to have convenient options for health care for their kids,” says Lisa Ziemnik, division chief of Dayton Children’s urgent care and Kids Express. “Virtual visits work extremely well for a variety of pediatric conditions and are a great alternative to parents who don’t want to leave their house for care right now.”

Parents who can’t get their child an appointment or want to avoid leaving the house during the pandemic can see a pediatric nurse practitioner virtually for the following conditions:

• Rashes

• Minor respiratory conditions

• Allergies

• Pink eye

• Vomiting and diarrhea

• Headache

• Constipation

• Minor injuries to determine if a child needs to be seen in person

The nurse practitioner is also able to send necessary prescriptions to the Dayton Children’s pharmacy for curbside pickup at the main and south campuses or the pharmacy of the patient’s choice.

If the practitioner thinks that a patient needs to be seen in person, a spot will be reserved for them at the Springboro Kids Express location.

To schedule a virtual visit, call 937-641-5066.
