Coronavirus: 2 West Carrollton workers test positive, trash collection postponed

Trash collection for today has been postponed after two City of West Carrollton workers tested positive for coronavirus. Trash service should resume as normal Thursday.

All Wednesday and Thursday routes are expected to be completed Thursday, with Friday’s service remaining on schedule.

The two city workers who tested positive are self-isolating for 14 days, per CDC policy. Any personnel who had direct contact with the two employees will be self-isolating today and self-monitoring for 14 days.

The city will conduct additional cleaning and sanitizing of all buildings, garages and vehicles before workers in the affected departments resume their duties in full capacity.

City protocols, including wearing a face mask at all times when outside a person’s contained workspace, physical distancing, temperature checks for each employee every day and asking employees to self-monitor for symptoms, continue to be in effect.
