This evening, a Montgomery County Coroner’s investigator couldn’t divulge whether a male or female was taken from the home Monday afternoon.

News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy did see a police investigator come out of the house at one point holding a paper bag presumably holding evidence in one hand and a chainsaw in his other hand.

Police were called to the residence on a report of a suspicious odor coming from the house. A death investigation was started once officers and the coroner’s office confirmed a body had been found in the house.

Neighborhood residents said the odor was really strong and smelled of trash. One said he had been noticing the odor two or three days, but thought nothing of it.

“To me, it was like a trash smell,” said Michael Isham. “And it started smelling worse when they [police and the coroner’s investigator] opened up that door.”
