(UPDATE @ 4:50 p.m.) A woman left trapped underneath a car outside a Dayton grocery store has been taken to a hospital suffering at least a broken leg in what police on scene are calling a "freak parking lot accident."

The victim, 26, was getting into the back seat of a car when another, moving in reverse, hit and shoved her underneath the car she was trying to get into, according to the preliminary assessment of the accident.

That left her pinned between the rear, passenger side wheel and one of her legs pushed into the wheel well.

A Dayton fire-rescue crew had to remove the tire to free the woman, who suffered at least a broken leg. Otherwise, her injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.

Police Sgt. Robert Plingner said the driver who backed into the victim will be charged.
