CRUISER VIDEO: Pursuit ends in wrong-way crash on I-75 in Springboro

Cruiser cam video of a pursuit that involved officers from Springboro, Miami Twp., Washington Twp. and Dayton shows a driver hitting another vehicle and driving the wrong direction on the highway.

Springboro police said the pursuit was in connection to an investigation into several burglaries in Springboro and Dayton.

A Task Force formed in hopes of identifying the those responsible for the burglaries, and on Dec. 9, the task force observed man drive to a house in Miami Twp. and force entry into the home.

The suspect got into his car and fled when officers attempted to stop him, according to Springboro police.

Cruiser cam video shows Miami Twp. police pursuing a dark-colored SUV along Ohio 725 where it went through a gas station lot near Ohio 741 and then hit a vehicle near I-75. The video shows one cruiser hitting a vehicle during the pursuit.

The cruiser cam video also shows the fleeing driver enter I-75 the wrong way as it traveled south in the northbound lanes before crashing in the grass median along I-75 near the location of Lexis Nexis.

Authorities said the suspect then ran from the crash, prompting police to set up a perimeter that extended as far east and north as Ohio 741 (Springboro Pike) toward the Hunter's Chase apartments on Steeplechase Drive in Miamisburg.

The suspect, identified as Larry Greth, of Middletown, was found hiding in a house in Miami Twp. on Tuesday and was taken into custody.

Greth was released from prison in January after a Montgomery County burglary conviction in 2015.
