One of the Dayton area’s newest craft breweries introduced a new patio adjacent to its tasting room this week.

Branch & Bone Artisan Ales, which opened in June 2018 at 905 Wayne Ave. just southeast of downtown Dayton, obtained final approval from the city of Dayton earlier this week and opened its patio on Wednesday.

Tables and chairs offering seating for 24 thirsty beer tasters are in place, and lighting and a sound system will be added in the coming days, according to Branch & Bone co-founder John Joyce, who was on a ladder putting some of the finishing touches on the patio Thursday afternoon.

“We’re really excited about it,” Joyce said. “We know it’s kind of late in the season, but sometimes things take a little longer than you expect.”

The brewery  has carved out a niche in the growing Dayton-area craft-brewing scene with its European-style brewing techniques and its distinctively funky, slightly tart brews. Its tasting room has been a busy place since Branch & Bone opened, and its special canned beers sold at the brewery often sell out quickly upon release.
