The Dayton city commission meetings for Wednesday and April 1 are canceled amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The city announced the cancellations Monday evening “to protect the health and welfare of citizens and staff.”

A statewide stay-at-home order goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. Monday.

The city also cited its state of emergency proclamation and Ohio’s state of emergency declaration.

Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County officials on Monday said there were 12 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county, five more than were reported earlier Monday on the Ohio Department of Health website.
