Dayton father charged with child endangerment

A Dayton father, Matthew Majusick, has been charged with child endangerment after his 8-year-old son was seen Monday evening riding his bicycle alone in the 1000 block of Lyons Road, according to a Montgomery Country Sheriff’s Office report.

When questioned by deputies, the 33-year-old’s son said he was riding his bike to his grandmother’s house because his father wasn’t home. Police have noted that the intersection the boy crossed — Lyons Road at Yankee Street — is a dangerous one that has been the location of multiple crashes, the report states.

Upon returning the boy home, deputies came in contact with Matthew Majusick who admitted that it wasn’t a good idea to leave his young son home alone, according to the report.

Majusick was issued a summons to appear in Kettering Municipal Court for child endangerment. His son was released to an immediate family member, according to the report.
